I've always thought of chicory as a classic case of over-exposure.
The flower is certainly a pretty enough blue, though rather pastel -
a color generally prized. In addition, it sits upon a
rather....mmmm, how shall I say it, an " architectural" scaffolding.
I wonder if they weren't quite as common, that they might be more
appreciated, at least for the wild border.
