Nope, not dumb to ask a question you do not know the answer to.... .22 is very
small entering the ground and can deflect entering the dirt...may or may not hit
the critter. All I know is some dirt is moving when I shoot. I try to hit the
moving area. Also bullets can bounce off of stones and go anywhere. Standing
about 10 feet from a patch of moving lawn the shotgun will hit an area about 6
inches in diameter and fill that spot with shot. Better chance of eliminating the
pest.
I have wanted a Ruger over & under for over 20 years. They finally came out
with a calmative special edition. Moles were one excuse to purchase the gun, the
other was a reward for my hard work in the nursery all year in 99.
We did a bit of traveling last week. A whole 2 1/2 hours from here over into
Kentucky. Stayed at my brother's place on the lake overnight and then headed for a
nursery the next morning. We had heard of, and met the owner, of a landscaping
outfit that had some nice shrubs and trees. Well, they did and now we do. Came
back with a van filled with pots of shrubs and trees. ... with seats removed. Will
be making another trip I would guess this coming fall. Lots more shrubs to plant.
Purchased a nice selection of Viburnums, Sourwood, Itea, Daphne, Holly.
Next week we intend to get up to Indy. See a nursery owner and perhaps make
some trades, purchases. Then a friend who is a landscaper and on to Oldfield
Estates and Indy Art Museum for the day. Two or three days on this one for dinners
out and letting someone else wait on us.
