I've seen it done by baking it in a big metal pan on the Weber grill, which
keeps the smell out of the kitchen, though the microwave would be perfect
for small quantities as you could seal the whole in a ziploc. I believe
that it has to reach a uniform 140 degrees to be sterilized.
