Daylilies

On Saturday, July 21, the Wisconsin Daylily Society had a tour of private, public and commercial daylily gardens around s.e. Wisconsin. I convinced a friend to go with me to just one stop on the tour (it was one of the HOTTEST days so far!) – to Robert Greisbach’s in Delavan.

As you daylily enthusiasts will know, Bob developed tetraploid daylilies by treating seedlings with colchicines way back in the 1950’s. He has now retired from 34 years of teaching at DePaul University in Illinois and has moved his daylilies to Wisconsin. I copied his bio from the internet (can’t remember the source) and will send it on (in HTML format with photos) to anyone interested to read it.

And I used my new digital camera to take some pictures of a few daylilies that caught my eye. Now I must learn how to post them up on the ‘net somewhere.
