Re: mildew


I must be honest - the phlox are fine so far, but I have mild mildew on
things that are generally immune.  Most of the aquilegia have some
mildew, one or two roses (that are in too much shade), other spots here
and there.  Not serious enough to spray, I've just picked off the worst
leaves -- the new growth looks fine and healthy. It must be a trade-off
- mildew but no leaf miner on the aquilegias!  I think mild cases of
mildew are not harmful to the plant, though it's important not to
compost mildewed foliage, and to clean up the soil around the plant at
the end of the season...other experts can comment here.
