Wild parsnip

Here in southeastern Wisconsin, we are seeing a lot of what the
newspapers are calling "wild parsnip". It is a non-native invader
and is gaining notoriety because of the photodermatitis that many
people can suffer after contact with the sap.

My books list this plant as Angelica archangelica, which is the same
plant whose stems are often candied and eaten.

Could this be the same plant? The description in Hortus III seems to fit.
