Japanese beetles again

Depending on how much land you have and if you use fencing, here is an idea.  
In a suburban house we owned a while back there was a long stretch of chain 
link fence on one side of the property.  Wild grape vines were a pesty weed 
there along with bittersweet.

Those grapevines got the best of us eventually and covered the fence.  I sort 
of liked the fence covered and found to my surprise it was absolutely covered 
with Japanese beetles all summer.  There were no roses in that garden and a 
lot of it was in shade.
