Thanks to all for the great advice. Marge, your point about having to
pull the dead foliage anyway after herbicice use is logical - I think
we'll try the newspaper/mulch route - I'll have enough to do in other
areas that the 2 acres can sit for a season.  Will be checking the Wild
Ones site today.
