Yes, Robin. Get hold of that seedlist and get your order in early. Seeds
remaining after the initial distribution period are given to the chapters and
a second round is had for no charge. The original order is just a nominal
mailing charge. This is largest seedlist of any organization. The
traditional courtesy of filling seed contributor order first takes only a few
weeks.
You may be interested in this project. A different chapter does the job each
year. The receive seed, package it and asssign it a number. Then it is
cataloged with the donor's name (so you know the geographical area). The
orders are filled by chapter members, usually in weekend sessions. A
seedlist is sent to all members. The seed is alphabetized and divided into
garden collected or wild collected (much treasured). This is a major
undertaking and I have been much benefited by being able to select seed from
the list.
Just now I have fifty Kalimeris incisa var. alba growing in a frame and
wonder just what to do with about forty of them. I also have about twenty
species of salvia for hardiness testing. Beside these and others, I have
three rows of plants that I have not a clue as to their identity as the
labels disappeared. What fun!
