Hello to all,
I have rejoined this list after a long absence and am delighted to see
all the familiar names still on the list! It is good to be back.
I live in NC, zone 7b. We have been in a severe drought for a long time
and last night we FINALLY got some rain, but the storm was so severe that
even my canna is fallen over! I hope it will come back up on its' own,
because it is so beautiful now--'Bengal Tiger'. I started it last year with
just a small plant and this year it is huge--at least 6'tall with the flower
scapes even taller. Also, my 'Stargazer' lilies--which were staked, but not
far enough up the top--are all opening and they are fallen over, too. 'Casa
Blanca' is not in bloom yet. I am thankful for the rain, but just slow and
steady would be better!!
I am attaching a photo of the canna BEFORE the rain!
