Hi,
No, you do not absolutely have to have another plant to get berries.
But, you will get more berries more often, and usually larger berries if
there are two or three plants in a area together. Cross pollination is
almost always better that the self-fertilization thing.
If you were going to have berries this year you would know it by now.
Blooms were way back in the early spring, and by now you would be seeing the
berries. Nice porcelain blue right on top of the foliage.
