Here are three more new phloxes to look for. They have very tiny flowers
which are borne in highly colored bracts. They are all Phlox paniculata
hybrids. The series will be labelled 'Feelings', the first three on market
to be Natural Feelings, Red Feelings and Empty Feelings. All bracts are
supposed to remain colorful in the garden for several months and the plants
be free of mildew. Zones 4-8.
These new plants are usually not found in our area, they seem to come from
the West Coast eastward. We read about them here.
They seem to fit the description of Salvia viridis or horminum which is an
annual and a long lasting, self-seeding plant in shades of pink and blue.
This is an old fashioned annual which is now making a comeback. The blue is
a very good plant for blue flower lovers.
