Japanese Toad Lily

I believe the toad lilies need a period of dormancy to do well. They
should stay in the garden during the winter if possible. I think you
need to plant other plants around the toad lily which will hide the bare
stems. They look good with Japanese painted fern and any fern in my
opinion. Other shade plants would look good too as long as you vary the
textures and shape of leaves of the plants.
