Chris, I think this is already in progress with the Evison container 
Clematis.   Sambucus is certainly a favorite of mine.   I have had "Aurea' for several 
yrs which I prune to more of a tree form.   I am trying 'Blk Lace' this yr in 
a container however I am not impressed with its performance in a container.   
The container is very lg but is a mixed plant container.
