Re: geranium book, was:ADMIN: spamming

Chris,

Is this 'Hardy Geraniums' by Peter F. Yeo? If so, I find it useful but a
tad laborious. He has covered every species and cultivar known at the time
it was written in great detail and provides a black and white silhouette of
the leaf to aid in identification - a difficult task with hardy geraniums.
I am still trying to sort out half a dozen I've gotten over the years and
lost I.D. tags on. Would be more useful with more color photos of the
blooms. There are some, but not enough for me to pin down one of my plants
for sure. But, again, I understand bloom color can be variable within a
species or cultivar, so maybe that wouldn't actually work.

This is a pretty technical book - good reference, but not what you'd call
a 'good read' - requires concentration, at least for me, to follow the
descriptions. For reference, I'd say it is worth the $40.00. I certainly
haven't found another to beat it.
