Not all sumac is poisonous. In fact, the Indians made a kind of lemonade
from the berries of the staghorn sumac. However, poison sumac is irritating
in all its parts, just like poison ivy. I got it once - gigantic blisters!
The poison sumac has characteristic white berries which hang downward in
clusters.
