Re: economies

Here is one of my favorite economies. After having seen wire plant
stakes for anywhere from $12 to $15 for a bundle of 10, I decided to
make my own. I wait until the local hardware store has the inexpensive
wire tomato cages (three rings welded to three legs) on sale for about
70 cents each. Then I cut each one into thirds by cutting the rings
halfway between the legs, then bend the ring segments into smaller
circles (leaving enough opening to fit around a stem). They have been
great for lilies that want to flop, heavy-headed foxgloves, a sunflower
a storm pushed halfway over, etc. For about 23 cents each, how can I go
wrong?
