Maybe this is obvious to lots of people but it didn't occur to me until
I'd been gardening a long time. Save seeds of your own where you can--lots
of annuals -bachelor buttons, cosmos, calendulas, cleome, larkspur-- to
name just a few. Many vegetables are easy to get seeds from--unless
they're hybrids. And many perennials too--particularly foxgloves, daisies,
etc. Seed packets now have very few seeds, and I like to grow lots of
varieties, so I think I save quite a bit with my own seed. And besides,
it's fun.
I love all the ideas people have been sending--let's hope for more.
