I think the pennyroyal will tolerate light traffic, but no more. Being
in the mint family, it should recover pretty quickly. I'm not sure
how well it will work in paving stones -- it depends on how much soil
it will get. What about moss, or irish moss?
Wintergreen is much too stiff and rigid for walkways, and would probably
get crushed instantly. The leaves are kind of "hollylike" in texture,
and are also evergreen.
