Uh, please tell that to the pansies and violas my sowbugs/pillbugs
devoured. They are supposed to be saprophytic, but they will destroy
hostas and particularly members of the viola family. To test my theory,
I planted big healthy 4" pansies and waited. Two hours later, the
pillbugs were carrying off stems they'd nibbled off. No lie.
