Re: edges

	I'm thinking about ways to make maintaining the
edges of my beds easier. 
Have any of you used the kind of heavy Plastic (?) edging
you pound in. 
How did it work out?  What else have you tried.  I'm
concerned about
expense as well as ease of installation and maintenance.  Do
you think it's
worth the labor and money to put in edging, or should I just
keep using my
edging tool and digging weeds and grass ?

I use Round-Up around all my flower beds. Three have field stones surrounding the beds, and 2 are just mulched with wood chips.  I use a square spade to dig about 6" out from my groundcover and pull the weeds/grass from that area instead of using RU.

Just be careful that you don't spray your plants (spray on a still day and keep the wand close to the ground).
