Have a hollyhock called, "Old Barnyard Mix" that I got from Wayside. It is
about 8 ft tall and in flower-however, I have some nasty little parasite bugs
that are sucking the life out of the flower buds, any are yellow and if
touched, drop to the ground. I am picking those buggers off when I can. They
look like any aphid-type but not green, they are more a grey color. I know I
could (and should) spray, and may yet.
I love hollyhocks in spite of the problems with rust.
I have a seedling that just sprouted called,Fig Hollyhock, which is a
perennial form of the plant. Will see what happens.
