Over the past several years I've purchased various varieties of
Pulmonaria (Mrs. Moon, Sissinghurst White, Roy Davidson, Janet Fisk,
Spilled Milk and a big coarse-leaved coral-flowered variety (I don't
remember the name of and which I don't like)). Otherwise, all of them
have done well here--overwintered well and bloom well. They get 3/4 day
of sun, late afternoon shade when they come up and bloom, but as soon as
the other perennials grow up around them, the lungworts are pretty well
shaded for the rest of the summer. In fact, one of them has seen fit to
scatter a few seeds and thus, new plants around which I've moved to
other places. When did you plant yours? Was the ground maybe too wet at
first? Try again, by all means.
I noticed that our K-Mart (of all places) has some really nice
well-grown perennials this year in big gallon pots grown by Klehms in
Illinois, I believe. (I am an original flat-lander from the nw suburbs
of Chicago, and have been familiar with Klehms as a peony grower for
years--seems they have branched out).
