Jeanne, take it easy! Were you expecting a Monet pallet your first time out?
Sure, that would be nice. I have yet to be successful in that area. Right
before I signed on to the net, I was thinking about all the moving I really
should do this fall (and not procrastinate), because you see, I have plants
that are hidden because the plant in front was not supposed to grow to the
height it has, and some things are crowded together and others really need
division. It is a constant work in progress.
My color wheel is mostly yellows, pinks, purples, white, a little orange.
While it is pleasing to *my* eye, it may not be for someone else's. Hey, it
has taken me 8 years to get this far! Maybe if your Gertrude Jekyll or
something you can do it "perfectly," but for most of us, it is trial & error.
My only suggestion to you is to dig up some of these plants in the fall and
rearrange the color combinations so you don't have all pink, all yellows,
etc., together.
Good luck and think of it as a new gardening venture-nothing ventured, nothing
gained.
