You see Jeanne, your garden is *much* better than Monet's :~)
even with all those jazzy colors.......
No, I have never seen Monet's garden, geez, I barely get out of Connecticut.
But I kinda felt the same way at Capriland's a couple of years ago.
Everything was weedy and not much in bloom-looked untidy.
Jeanne, I hope you know, that in my own blustering way, I just meant for you
to enjoy your garden. It probably will never be what you have in your minds
eye. I didn't want you to get discouraged and give it up. Every gardening
season I learn something new, and this is one thing I like about this list is
the exchange of ideas, knowledge and innovations!
My first year gardening I stuck two rose bushes in clay soil-no amendments,
nothing! It is to there own credit they still survive (after eight years).
Now I know better (well, sometimes I still get impatient and plop things where
they shouldn't be).
Next year Jeanne, you will be armed with fantastic knowledge and a garden even
Gertrude Jekyll would envy (geez! I hope her garden hasn't gone to seed too!
<g>).
