While watching the Victory Garden a few weeks ago they were discussing this
very problem. One of their suggestions included a copper boundary around
the outside edge of your garden -- supposedly, the slugs get a "shock"
when they come in contact with it because of a chemical reaction with
their slime. Hand picking slugs trapped within the barrier was also
recommended, or else they would never get out.
I'm thinking about trying this in problem areas with some copper flashing
cut into 1" strips...
