Okay. SOME birds eat seeds. SOME birds eat bugs. SOME birds eat both, and
can be manipulated to the gardeners whim.
BUT, then there's the American Gold Finch (as an example), who needs
thistle seed at this time of year to feed it's young (it regurgitates
"thistle-milk" for it's brood).
So, if you're going to be dictating when-and-what-and-where your birds eat,
take into consideration what type of birds you're playing "benefactor" to.
Otherwise, don't attract them.
