So to clear up a few things....I just know a few things about them, but Cin and
I sell quite a few of these a year.....Brugsmansisa is a Datura, but it is moth
polinated in its native areas...mostly south of southern Cal....into South
America.
the moth pollinater is not availible up in the states so the plant never
developes seed....but this does expalain the super strong night oder.....it grows
from tip cutting as Cin said so easy!....that seed seems like a waste of
time.....we are continuely baraged w\ questions about its hullicgentic quilities
that we just refuse to deal w\ those...althou there are many web sites for that
part of the interest..........Some of our customers have told us that this Datura
was actually renamed in an effort to market it w\o the Datura aspects of the
plant.........
The strong and pleasant night oder and the fast growth of the plant makes it a fun
species to own....not to speak of the beautiful blossums..
there are many types...we have dark yellow, light yellow, pink, white, double
white, and
bright red....which red has been hard to keep blooming....some our plants have
reached 10 feet on our deck.....one of these actually bloomed several times this
winter...althou it got hit 3 times w\ light frost....the 4th time it did not
recover but its stalks are still green!
