The most recent research on Lythrums has shown that the 
"sterile" cultivars are not in as little as a single generation. 
Further, just in case you think yours isn't a problem because 
there is no water in your immediate vicinity ~ they have tracked 
Lythrum seed as far as 50 miles from the source.  Seed travels 
far.

Jaime, in NJ whose wild waterways, ponds, swamps, etc., are 
rapidly disappearing due to loosestrife & phragmites.
