Re: Security Issue

The article I saw was written by John Breeden of the Washington Post.
The article appeared in the Abq Journal, 7/28/98, page B-6.
In a section 'What Viruses Aren't' he said: "The first rule of virus
behavior is that the virus warning you got in your e-mail - you know,
the panicked message urging you to FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU
KNOW!!!-is most likely utter nonsense. All of these virus hoaxes take
basically the same form....The actual killer e-mail never exists -
because no such thing is possible. Viruses cannot launch themselves out
of plain e-mail text. Period. ..."
I am glad to receive your message that indeed this article is not
factual. Is it totally wrong or is the virus in an attachment rather
than in the mail itself??
Thanks
scott
