Re: Wanted: ornamental grass recommendations

I grow Erianthus ravennae (ravenna grass) and Miscanthis sinensis
'gracillimus.' both are big and tall (ravenna is near 10 feet). they
seem to withstand drought well and produce lovely tall, waving tops, the
miscanthis being the more graceful of the two, that last throughout the
winter. in late winter/early spring, before growth, i whack them both
and tie up the stalks into sheaths, which i lean against a fence as an
ornamental touch. dividing is a pain, as they form huge, tough masses.
also, they spread, though i wouldn't call them very invasive.
