While on a trip through Idaho last year, I visited a botanical garden in
Boise, where I saw a plant labeled as Leonotis lantana - Lion's Ear. It
was a striking plant, 6 ft tall with orange flowers in the axils of the
leaves. As I passed, by and accidentally brushed up against the plant and
a few ripe seeds just happened to fall into my hands :)
The seedling plants are now over 5 ft tall but no blooms yet - the mother
plant in Idaho was blooming in mid-september.
