I had to do this at this precise time last year - we were moving house
and I wanted to take as much as possible with me. Take heart, and do
all that everyone has mentioned - water water water and I cut back the
leaves to small fans (less energy expended to keep the leaves green).
Don't expect much in the way of new growth until fall, perhaps, and then
next spring it will probably be fine! All mine were!
