Re: Off-Topic: Window boxes


I agree with Susan that this is a topic of interest to many perennial
gardeners, myself included.  One of my sons made me two window boxes 
(don't know what kind of wood but it's not splitting) which are not as
big as Susan's.  I didn't line them with anything and it would have been
better if I had.  The front "wall" is slanted inwards at the bottom. 
Can't remember the cost to build, but I know it wasn't much.

Granted, they are mostly planted with annuals, but there are a few
perennials which seem to survive the winter rain.  Mine need lots of
watering (almost daily) - fortunately we're not on a meter!

Let us know what you intend to plant in them.
