Do you remember in May I asked about some seedlings of these
I had? Christopher Lindsey found out for me that they are:
"P. rupifragum
is a perennial that grows about 45 cm high (1 1/2 feet)
with pale
brick-red blooms about 7.5 cm (3 1/4") in diameter."
Well, they are flowering now and they are in fact a very
pretty soft orange colour, a double flower and about 2" in
diameter. As they're so different, while I'm writing this,
I'm wondering if the plant I have is in fact something else.
I was surprised, but pleased, that they flowered this year.
Also flowering from a February sowing this year are a blue
Jacob's Ladder (Polemonium), and last year my Achillea
Summer Pastels flowered from a January sowing, so there are
definitely some perennials out there that do flower in their
first year of sowing.
