Re: July Gardens
In the home I formerly lived I had great success with Alstromeria. My
small flower bed was on a slope in partial sun and they thrived. I had
some in the back in a flat raised bed in partial shade and they didn't
flower much. In my new home only 10 minutes from the last I have had NO
luck growing Alstromerias. From what I figure they are very picky about
where they want to take root....not to sunny, not too wet. I'm still
hoping I'll hit on a place. My suggestion is well drained raised bed or
slope in partial sun. They are fabulous as a cut flower and last
forever as well as bloom from June till frost.
Good luck with these beauties!
