As Marilyn said, Achimenes are members of the gesneriad family and can be
propagated by stem cuttings and rhizome division. The Gesneriad Society has a
great web site including propagation information and *pictures* and links. No,
I'm not a member, I just tried to find out more about them after seeing a
friend's yellow achimene in bloom. I will be ordering some this fall for next
spring!
