Foxgloves

I'm resending these four messages about foxgloves that I
posted 24 hours ago. I didn't receive the digest yesterday
evening, not sure what went wrong and so it doesn't look as
though these messages have gone out. My apologies if you
did already receive them.
Thanks for this Marge. I'll look when mine have finished
flowering to see what the leaves are like at the base.
Another question though. Are the ones that flower for a
second year as tall as those that are flowering for the
first time? Occasionally I come across a foxglove with
several spikes of flower but they are always short (never
taller than three feet, often less) and I've wondered if
these were ones that I accidentally left in from the
previous year.

Yes, that could be right. I have hedges on either side of
my garden with a path going roughly down the middle of the
garden. The two foxglove borders are between the hedges and
the path - so the plants could be turned towards the lighter
part near the path and away from the darker hedge.
