Don't forget scabiosa 'Blue Butterly' -- literally never quits from frost to
frost, as well as centranthus ruber or Jupiter's Beard. They never quit.
For foliage you could go with some of the artemesias, another good choice
for those conditions are various sedums, especially 'Autumn Joy' which looks
wonderful from the first spring green rosettes to the fall mahogany spent
flowers. You could also add some reseeding annuals that bloom for months
like nicotiana alata (fabulous night fragrance), malva, annual poppies and
godetia. Check out the aster family as well. 'Monch' blooms for months for
me.
