Maybe they were in the greenhouse too long. The roots stop expanding in the
confines of a small pot and some plants complete their life cycle. It is
always better to buy a smaller and younger plant. That being said, I have a
similar agastache beginning to bloom that was overwintered here in a cold
frame. Last year it was an August bloomer. It seems this plant does not
want early season pampering. I hope it will prove perennial for you.
