Dh is being relocated and will start working at the Irvine office in
August 2001. I've got to get this garden in shape so we can sell the
house. It's in pretty bad shape; lots of weeds, including in the lawn,
and the soil is all clay, stones, and construction backfill. Another
problem is that I'm more a collector than a gardener --definitely not a
landscaper! -- so it's mostly a motley collection of single species that
I just HAD to have.
This move is going to leave even less time for fixing up the
garden, let alone maintaining it. The only thing I can think of is The
One-Minute Gardener route: convert most of the flower beds to grass (and
hire a lawn service), and use lots of no-care plants such as daylilies
and pachysandra.
How would you deal with a garden that requires more time than you
have, when you have to sell the house in one year?
