Hey Donna - glad to see you're getting out and about, you must be on
the mend:-)

Black-eyed susans are a Rudbeckia, tho' the ones that I have growing
wild are annuals (I think).

See no reason why plants purchased now that are container grown can't
be planted now and survive if you can make sure they are watered. 
I'm still planting stuff out of pots that I've been growing on and
it's doing OK.

I don't know which Rudbeckia you're thinking about - there are
several species and cultivars...if it is a perennial, it should
return for you next year - all things being equal.  Shasta daisies
should, too. 

Pick an overcast day for planting out or do it in the very late
afternoon, early evening...makes it easier for the plants to think
about the transition from pot to ground without wilting.
