Hello Karen,
My partner, JoAn, became fascinated with sedums about two years ago. We are
not beginning to have sedums of all sizes and kinds woven throughout her gardens,
pots on the porch. Now I am getting interested. For her birthday I purchased 3
trays of assorted sedum, hens & chick, everything that resembles a sedum.... and a
book on sedum. Think it is probably more than she ever wanted to know... "Sedum
Cultivated Stonecrops" by Ray Stephenson. Timber Press book...about $50
We spent this spring arranging her hypertufa troughs, locating flu tiles of
various sizes to place on end, large rocks. Covers an area about 12 by 15. Now I
am playing with alpines and sedum in troughs.
Sedum will take some shade.....and there are sedum that grow in the shade here
locally as a native.
They are fun.
