RE: self-seeding

Hehehe...me neither, but maybe there is something you folks can help me with, speaking of unidentifiable plants, and not knowing if they are a weed. :)

I have a plant ***slowly*** growing in my garden, and I'm not sure what it is. It does not have a woody base at all, so I do not think it is a tree. Also, I've seen no trees even in our neighborhood with these characteristics. I love the foliage, and it started appearing several weeks after planting the Petunias....so I suspect it is a seed that went fell into the petunia's. Any ideas or suggestions as to what this is:

I don't have than many fingers or toes- so can't give you good count. But
once in a while I am right and the plant does turn out to be a good one.
