So it has survived a zone 5 winter? I am 6b, although our winters have been more like 8 lately. I noticed the weekend the seed pods are unusual -- like love in a mist but smaller.

I bought one this spring as well. Think mine has pink blossoms, have no idea
what it will end up doing. I've just put it into a "temporary" home till I
figure out where gardens will be after construction. Lady I bought it from
said I was going to love it.

Anyone know anything about this plant?

I don't but it I know that we will see it in a year or two. New plants come
west to east now so what you guys on west coast discuss, we will see in the
following season.
Silene and Lychnis are mixed up taxonomically so it may have been around
before with another name. Either way, report on it, Susan, I know we will
see it next year.
PS to Silene - it is a three syllable word which suprises all when some
speaker comes up with the three syllable pronounciation. I and my once
companion to meetings had a long drive argument over this word, he could not
believe sigh-lee-nee, nor could I until we were proven wrong.
