You can move parts of your clump now-when planting go a little deeper, next
years stems will be grown until fall. If you want to do the whole clump,
that would not be a problem ether-except that the stems will be "floppy" for
a while.
They do not have a deep root system but the base of large clumps can be very
"woody" and tough.
