Hakonechloa

Chris, I have a small Hakenechloa that's been growing in a bed in my
north yard for three or four years now. It is an area that's shaded from
high above by a large pin oak on one side and a big old locust on the
other and the plant itself is even more in shade because of some tall
Tricyrtis behind it. It's a spot that stays fairly moist also. The soil
there is mainly yucky ordinary Urbana loam with some of the leaf compost
from the recycling center added when we first put in the bed. Anyway, I
have done nothing special with it, so I'm just lucky, but it means you
CAN grow it since I'm only a few blocks from you.

Susan
