Lots of variability-but most are tall -- over two feet and up to 4 feet tall,
while candanse grows 15 or so inches tall at most.
The sepal shape on the picture is wrong for Canadian anemone, plus the height
is off-they normally do not have long flowering stems but flower just above
the leaves.
The best way to tell the diffrences will be after flowering.
A. virginiana has long cottony hairs or "tails" that cover the seeds. Plants
also grow as clumps that stay in one location
A. canadnesis has a small button of green seeds. Plants spread around to form
large colonies.
