You'll be surprised how tough daffodils can be, Lillian. My theory is that 
they always do better in the ground than in storage. Tales abound of people who 
found daffodil bulbs they received in the summer in the corner of the garage 
in January. They planted them right away and guess what? Yep, they still have 
them.
