I look forward to the time you can post a pic. Judging from your zone & brief description, my first guess would be that it's a Fargesia, a clumping mountain bamboo.

Hi, everyone! It would be wonderful if we could post pictures. Would the pix require a certain format other than jpg? Is bamboo considered a perennial or a shrub or a tree? I have a verywell-behaved one that I need help identifying. The stems are gorgeous. It diesback in the winter and reaches about 6' by the end of the summer, neverspreading or suckering. I'd love to post a picture if this plant belongs on thislist. Nice to hear voices again! Joanie Anderson Z. 5a 35 mi. north of Chicago In a message dated 6/3/2011 11:10:46 A.M. When we set these lists up in 1997 (holy cow!) peoples' Internet connections were a lot slower, so we put that restriction in place. If people want to share photos now I'm cool with that and can make it work through the list. :) Chris --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with themessage text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS
